I gazed upon this faery small

She stood scarcely two foot tall

Tiny shoes covered her tiny feet

And she bowed towards me in a faery greet

Her pretty little face showed no trace of woe

And her hair was white as new fallen snow

Her eyes were sparkling bright and brown

And on her head she wore a tiny crown.

Then she smiled at me and this did say

You’re in Faeryland you have lost your way

Sorry to disturb you from your rest

Come along with me and be my guest.

Then she led me to the faery ball

To a faery dance in a faery hall

All the faery folk were dancing there

And faery music filled the air.

But when we stepped inside the faery dance hall door

A hushed silence fell across the floor

Faery men and women one third my size

All looked up at me with fear in their eyes.

But their Queen she spoke to them and said

Of this gentle giant you need hold no dread

I met her in the oak tree shade

Into Faeryland she somehow strayed.

Then the faery band started playing anew

And the faery folk started dancing too

Round and round the dance floor they did wheel

To the haunting sound of a faery reel.

I have never seen people quite so gay

As these little faeries in their bright array

These happy folk did laugh and sing

As they danced around in a faery ring.

Then I left the ball with the Faery Queen

And we strolled the banks of a moonlit stream

I stooped to kiss her but she was gone

And by the moonlit stream I stood alone.

The alarm clock rang and I awoke

And my spell of fantasy was broke

I awoke to a World of reality

From a Faeryland of fantasy.

No one really gets it, they just don’t understand,
Nothing went the way it should, nothing went like planned.
The path she chose was not the one she should take,
She felt if she did, she wouldn’t be real she’d be fake.
She never really felt supported, by her friends and family,
She felt what she saw, only she could see.

Yet it did not break her, it only made her strong,
She know she is right, and she knows they are wrong.
She know this is what fate meant for her to be,
She doesn’t really care if others disagree.
She knows she can show herself, knows she can live,
She knows she can take, and she knows she can give.
It’s OK to show you’re weakness, OK to show you’re scar,
It’s OK to be different, to be who you are.
She knows she can do this, at least she will try,
Because she knows herself, and that its OK to cry.
